Classic Gamer Magazine
A free, online publication devoted to
classic gaming is available, named the Classic Gamer
Magazine. The most recent issue, V2.2, is 48 pages of full-color
enjoyment. It contains a number of excellent articles that you might
find of interest. The material ranges from arcade games and Atari 2600
carts to the newer consoles. MAME is also a topic. Best of all,
it is free! The first volume of six issues is also available for
purchase on this site.
BarCade plans now available (sort of)
It has been an extremely
hectic summer both at home as well as at work. Consequently some
projects have fallen by the wayside. The BarCade document is one of
those unfortunate items. I've decided that rather than wait until it
is 'complete', I'd upload the first section. The first nineteen pages
are included, which takes you through most of the major construction and
leaves you cutting the control panel blank out.
I have no idea when the free time will become available for me to finish the
document. I intend to do so as soon as possible. If you read
through the document and have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Ultrastyle v2.0 released!
Chris has been refining this excellent
front-end almost on a daily basis. The ever growing amount of feedback
he receives allows him to continuously improve the app. If you haven't
stopped by his site yet, you need to.
A growing forum is available, too. He's a great guy who'll try to
answer any question you may have.
Some of the new features he's added:

New Commodore products announced!
Anyone who knows me knows I
owned (and still have) a Commodore 64 and enjoyed it during its heyday. If was a
fantastic machine that provided many, many hours of enjoyment.
Two of my favorites were LodeRunner (using custom screens) and Summer Games II. My dorm room
in college was packed for the few months I located the 64 there until
deciding it might be better left at home (students have a tendency to be a little
hard on the controllers). Anyway, it seems the Commodore name is
showing up again in the news as they are releasing some
'new' products, many with familiar names: Pet, C64 and the Vic. Their
first game-related product is a joystick (see picture) that plugs directly
to your TV and plays 30 of their more popular games. Although this
product in-of-itself is not original, here's hoping this means new, orginal
products in the future.

BYOAC tokens are in
The coins have arrived! The Build
Your Own Arcade Controls' first arcade token design
has been made real. Santoro, of the forums, has received the shipment
and it appears that the result is better than anyone had hoped. Check
out the link to read more about this first run.
Apparently they may make additional runs in the future based on new designs.
