The Store is finally open!
After a very hectic several weeks, the
store reopening has arrived.
There is a 2-player custom controller that is available, with a fair number
of available options. Check it out.
A new item is the ArcadeCab Ultra-Trackball Controller (for want of a slicker sounding name). It sports a 3" PS2 arcade trackball and three buttons in a very solid case. It is great for any Tiger Woods or Golden Tee aficionado who may not have the room (or cash) for a full blown cabinet. It will also work well with any MAME trackball game. Another selling point is that this controller is small enough (10d"x16w"x5"h) to travel with you easily. Plug it into your laptop when you are away from home and you've an instant arcade. See what you think. Both these items are in the Store.
It will be a little while longer before the new cabinets show up for sale.

Sorry about the long break
I have been very busy around the shop,
working on several projects. One of the yet-to-be-announced projects
will become available for purchase in the next week. Let me say that I
am very excited about it. The store should be up April 1st (really)
with this product as well as my custom control panels. The custom
controllers will have a number of options available to you.
With everything going on, the final new cabinet offerings won't be available April 1st. The design changes have needed more time than was originally allocated. I'd much rather postpone them rather than begin selling before the design is ready.
Which means...
...The BarCade document still isn't complete.
More site changes
As part of the preparation for the store, I have
moved the controller plans to the
Projects
page. This really makes more sense. Cabinet Plans still
remains in the menu as many of the visitors are looking for those
specifically.
The menu's order has been reshuffled, too. The Store menu
item has been added, but points to an "Under Construction" page.
I apologize for that but it will make my life easier in a few days.

Still working on the BarCade document
I have completed the first
four pages and the outline, with many more to go. A nice pot of
coffee and a spare day would help production a great deal. Hopefully
it'll be finished by month's end.
And another project (hopefully) to be completed by the end of March...
Several new products and some cabinet changes will be making their
appearance when the Sales page returns for its grand reopening. Two of
the items have been designed to meet the needs of an underserved portion of
the market, while the custom controller offerings will change for the
better. I still have a lot of work ahead of me in order to meet that
self-imposed deadline but am looking forward to the unveiling. Very
exciting.

Another Cabinet Added to the Visitor Page
Kristina G sent in a
couple pictures of her personal interpretation of my design. It was
stained and looks sharp. Check them all out
here.
New project begun
Spent all day working outside on cabinet design modifications. I know,
finish the BarCade PDF document before you start something new! Don't
worry, I'll be working on that, too, but it was too nice a day to stay
indoors. These design changes are motivated by a number of
emails over the last few months and will make their appearance once the
Sales page returns. I'll keep you posted.

New Section Added!
With several projects lined up to work on in
the near future, I decided to add a new section,
Projects. This page will serve as
an index that should allow me a large amount of flexibility going forward.
BarCade (Mostly) Complete!
The BarCade is 95% complete now.
I have a few little items to finish up but they are minor issues. A
page has been put up that includes a
number of construction photos. The page will soon become part of a new
Projects section that, hopefully, will include more products in the
future.
I have begun work on a PDF document that will detail the construction
process I used, with detailed measurements and material lists. As this
will be more difficult than merely throwing some pictures up on a page,
please bear with me if it takes more than a couple weeks. I have
another busy weekend coming up which will result in more pictures for the
site. I'll drop a couple hints as the week progresses.

More BarCade Progress Made
I am now on the downside of the
construction mountain. The Plexiglas monitor bezel has been cut and
painted. The underside and other miscellaneous areas have also been
painted. The control panel layout ended up being a bit busier than I
originally intended but I am satisfied with it. The speaker controls
will be mounted on the front of the cabinet, opposite the Escape button.
Still left on the agenda: laminating the sides and control panel top,
installing the wiring and speakers, and hacking the power strip to create a
single on/off switch on the back door. I hope to have all this
completed in the next several days, energy permitting.
