X-Arcadeā¢ Refurbished Sale
For those who have been considering the X-arcade, X-gaming has a limited quantity of the
two-player

refurbished but still carry the lifetime warranty.
From their announcement:
"We have a limited quantity of X-Arcade Dual Joysticks for an all-time low price of $119.95, including shipping anywhere in the USA, a PC Adapter and 6 Full Version Midway Arcade Games. This is the lowest price the X-Arcade Dual Joystick has ever been available for since it's release."

Store Update
The existing stock of the single-player controllers
is now depleted. As a result, no further orders will be taken for
these until further notice due to baby. There are still a few of the
Ultra-trackball shells and completed units available. My best guess is
that everything will be available once again at the start of 2006.

Mamewah Information Update
I have made some changes, corrections,
and (hopefully) improvements to the
Mamewah Overview page.
This was done as a direct result of my adding the Atari 2600 page last week.
I noticed that the text of the page was not as instructional as it could be,
so I revisited it. The traffic to the Mamewah page is consistently
very high so I hope it is even more helpful now. Check it out and
see what you think.

Atari Flashback 2
Relating to my 7/29/05 News item and the
accompanying Project page, I
read in Wired about the Atari Flashback 2 being released very soon.
According to the press releases it will include 40 classics and a couple
bonus games, including Adventure II. Pricing appears to be $30 MSRP. Looks
very cool and hacks
are already available for it to enable the original cartridges to be
plugged in. In my opinion, this is an excellent sign that the market is
continuing to support retrogaming. It is also encouraging to see the
younger set embracing the classic games of our youth, games which did
not include the graphic violence prevalent in many of today's offerings.
Look for the Atari Flashback 2 coming to a store near you soon.

Atari 2600 emulator added to the cabinet
Over the last week I have
been fumbling with adding the Atari 2600 games to my cabinet. These
games, in my opinion, are a natural fit for the arcade games. I used a
modified version of the Z26 emulator from
here.
This version changed a couple of the buttons to be more "cabinet friendly." For the layout that is shown to the right, the home of
CPViewer
provided that, in addition to some other great information. All the details
of how Z26 was added into my Mamewah setup can be found on the new
Z26 Information page.
